THE ANTI-ELECTRIC VEHICLE! "Instead of miles per gallon, this truck uses gallons per mile," said Tom Lloyd, founder of Elite Custom Electric Vehicles based in Orlando, Florida. 

The Central Florida Auto Show, produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows and presented at the Orlando Convention Center, showcased hundreds of cars, trucks and sporty utility-vehicles, giving the public an opportunity to view the new 2013 models without the pressure of sales people.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!  "There were a couple of cross-over hybrids and not one fully electric car," said Tom Lloyd. "People don't realize that 90 percent of the time, they drive fewer than 100 daily miles, which means an all-electric vehicle with a back-up range-extending system is what they should be buying. But that is not what the major car companies want to sell because they really do not want you to fall in love with e'cars that you can just unplug and drive."

Elite Custom Electric Audi A8 For Sale

This fine sporty electric Audi A8 sedan is priced at $59 to $79,000 and eligible for up to $12,500 in federal and state tax credits. It's all-electric for daily driving. But it also has an on-board recharging system and range-extending generator powered by a V-Twin engine that can be switched on for longer commutes. 

Think of the money you will save on gasoline and oil changes. Electric cars operate on batteries with a 10-year life and require almost no maintenance.  

This custom Audi A8 electric conversion hybrid travels cross-country. A motorcycle V-Twin engine is used to power the onboard generator to recharge the electric cells while you travel. You can cruise at 40 - 70mph on electric batteries alone ninety percent of the time, without using one drop of gasoline.

But when you are leaving town and plan to travel more than 200 miles before re-charging, that's when the Audi's large power generator kicks in that also utilizes the car's factory gas tank to extend the car's range to 500 miles or more between gas stops.

30.6 Million Electric Vehicles Sold in 2011

The 30.6 million Electric Vehicles sold in 2011 will rise to 51.3 million in 2021 but the value of the market will grow by far more because larger and more expensive vehicles are now rapidly adopting the technology.

Motorcycles, military vehicles, recreational vehicles, buses and earthmovers are among them. Hybrids will rise from about 50% to about 60% of the value market through the decade.
