Yamaha, long known for Powersport engines for off-road vehicles, motorcycles and boats, has now debuted a new line of electric motors and drive unites sized for motorcycles and cars. The Japanese company first came out with a powerful 200kW (270 horsepower) high-performance electric motor prototype for motorcycles, and then moved on towards four-wheeled vehicles.
Not yet on the market, Yamaha uploaded a video that demonstrates the use of 150kW twin-engines used to power a rear-drive electric car.
